Manpwin is a powerful and easy to use freeware fractal generation program. I especially like its coloring system. It is fairly fast, but does not have the high magnification precision that fractint does. It has a fun feature that allows you to make a 3D plot of the image that is somewhat equivalent to making it into a height field. You can see that many of the images here use that feature. I post-processed those images slightly to smooth them out a bit. Study the images as you would clouds and see if you can see in them what I have seen.
